目前在国际上越来越多已出版的生物医学权威学术研究报告显示,人们日常不论是口服还是外用的护肤品中含有很多成份都跟胎儿先天缺陷有关联。 一部分的研究针对局部外用护肤品做了特别注解,我们已知护肤品中的部分成份会随着肌肤吸收进入到血液循环中,虽然量可能是微乎其微,但是孕妇在孕期使用的话,这些成份最终也是能轻而易举地通过循环到达胎儿的血液中。

维他命A 及其各类衍生成份(视黄醇、视黄酸、全反维生素A酸、维甲酸、异维甲酸(青春痘特效药)等上述成份都被诸多专业医学研究报告特别指出含致胎儿神经嵴先天缺陷1,2的风险,并且在一些生物试验中甚至表明有增加颅面和心血管畸形的发生机率3-10

水杨酸,有增加胎儿畸形的风险,情况严重甚至可能造成死胎11,12

氧苯酮(紫外线吸收剂UV-9),一种化学性防晒成份,孕期使用容易造成胎儿安全出生率下降13 此外还可造成胎儿体内雌激素分泌紊乱14

乙醇酸,一种常见于面部去死皮产品的化学剥离素,大量实验表明,该种成份一旦被胎儿吸收有可能引起脊椎和肋骨先天发育不良,同时减轻胎儿出生的健康体重或造成其他骨骼类畸形状况的出现15-17

过氧化苯甲酰,多见于非处方性粉刺护理产品中,孕期使用容易引起胎儿生殖系统发育异常18 芦荟, 植物型天然有机成份,具备卓越的修复和舒缓功效,但是在孕期也是不宜使用的,否则胚胎死胎的机率会大大增加,另外还有可能造成胎儿骨骼先天异常19

迷迭香, 有机草本成份,富含强效抗氧化能力,但是孕期也是应当避免使用,否则也会增加死胎的机率20
